Thirty-five years in technology, much of it at CVS Health: CIO of a retail division of more than 10,000 locations, then Enterprise Chief Technology Officer through the company's growth into an integrated healthcare organization.
Why this week
A medical record has to stay confidential for a patient's lifetime. Harvest-now-decrypt-later is concrete in healthcare. NIST signals deprecation around 2030 and disallowance by 2035. OMB M-26-15 gave federal agencies 120 days to produce migration plans.
What he will do
Advise on finding legacy cryptography in large regulated enterprises — especially estates built by acquisition, where the inventory is never what the architecture diagram says.
